Description

Attractive oil on canvas painting depicting a harbour scene. We would estimate it to date from the nineteenth century and it may be a Grand Tour piece. It is nicely done, but is unsigned and untitled. Framed in a wood and gesso gilt frame which we believe to be original to the painting. Please note that it has been photographed on an easel, which is not included in the sale.

Condition: Overall in good condition with good colours. There is some cracking and crazing to the paintwork in places and there are a few small marks. The frame has some darks marks and scuffing and some areas of loss and cracking with some significant losses around the edges.

Frame - 78cm by 34cm, 5cm deep.
