Description

This lovely antique overmantle mirror dates from around the 1820s/30s. It has a lovely wood and gesso gilt frame with neoclassical chariot design and corinthian column supports. There are three bevel-edged mirrors, which we believe to be original to the piece.

Condition: Overall this lovely mirror is in good usuable condition but does hae some wear and damage consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the finish as might be expected, and some areas of cracking, loss and repair to the gesso decoration. There is some more significant loss to the two bottom corners at the bottom of the columns. The piece may have been overpainted at some point and shows some signs of being touched up with some basic restoration. The back panel may be a replacement. The mirrors have some black spotting and corrosion.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 80cm high, 121.5cm wide, 6cm deep (to maximums).
