Description

This lovely antique overmantle mirror dates from around the 1820s/30s. It has a lovely wood and gesso gilt frame with neoclassical design and column supports. There are three bevel-edged mirrors, which we believe to be more modern replacements.

Condition: Overall this lovely mirror is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the finish as might be expected. We believe the piece to have been restored at some point - we believe the mirrors to be more modern replacements and the gilt-paintwork to have been overpainted. There is some chipping to the paintwork in places and some signs of re-touching. The central mirror has a small black area of corrosion.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 68cm high, 111cm wide, 8.5cm deep (to maximums).
