Description

This lovely vintage bear has no maker's marks or labels, but he has the characteristics of a German bear and we believe him to have been made by Steiff. He has mohair fur, felt pads, glass eyes, black claw stitching and a black-stitched nose and mouth. He is fully jointed and hard stuffed. He has a growler inside his chest that is no longer operative. We would estimate him to date from the 1950s/60s.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some playwear consistent with age. He is overall a little grubby, dusty and faded and his mohair fur is thinning with some balding patches. His pads have some holing and some repairs. His joints are a little loose. One ear has some loose stitching. As is mentioned above the growler inside his chest is inoperative.
