Description

This pair of antique majolica tiles are salvage pieces and were probably once set into a fireplace. They feature yellow, brown and green leaves and blue flowers, set onto a yellow background. They have what apears to be a diamond registration mark on the back, but the details are not legible. We would estimate them to date from around the 1870s.

Condition: Overall the tiles do have some damage and wear. The fronts have some scratching, wear, chipping and significant crazing. One of the tiles has a larger chip to one side.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Tile - 31cm by 15.5cm, 1.5cm deep.
