Description

This attractive armchair dates from c.1870 and has a lovely rounded shape. It has a scrolled sloping back, scrolled arms and a rounded seat. It is supported on turned mahogany legs terminating in original metal and wood castors. It has a sprung seat and is very comfortable. The upholstery is not original.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. It is solid, but does have some movement in the joints. The upholstery is not original, and is a little faded and dated with a small tear to the seat at the bottom of one arms. The wooden legs are scuffed, and the wooden wheel part of the castors are badly worn with loss. One of the back legs has some signs of old wood woodworm damage - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution. Both the front legs are cracked at the top and have signs of repair and regluing.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 81cm high, 77cm wide, 81cm deep (to maximums) 39cm high to seat.
