Description

This vintage ceiling light shade is an attractive item, but please note that it does have some damage. There are significant stress cracks around the top, which travel about half way down the shade. The shade is made from blue coloured glass, textured on the inside, and has what we believe to be a brass top in the style of a crown. The sides of the shade are hand-painted with knight and heraldic decoration. We would estimate it to date from around the 1930s. It is designed to be hung on the ceiling from a hook, and neither the chains or the ceiling hook are present.

Condition: The piece does have some damage. There are significant stress cracks around the top, which travel about half way down the shade. There is also some chipping and nibbling around the bottom of the shade and some imperfections in the glass as might be expected. The piece is overall a little grubby and the metal top is tarnished with some surface rusting. The paintwork has some wear, grubbiness and indentations.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
36cm high, 23cm diameter.
