Description

This lovely vintage sitting teddy bear was made by Merrythought. He retains his fabric label sewn into one leg and his original button in one ear. He dates from the 1930s. He has mohair fur with replacement fabric pads, a black stitched nose and mouth and replacement black claw stitching. He has a jointed head and arms and his legs are fixed. He is soft stuffed with a hard snout. He has a red ribbon around his neck that is not original.

Condition: Overall in fair-good condition with some wear playwear consistent with age. He is overall a little grubby and faded, and his mohair fur is thinning in places with some bald patches. He shows signs of restoration - one of his eyes is a later plastic replacement (the other is glass), his pads and claw stitching have been replaced, and there are some signs of re-stitching to his back seam. His nose stitching is faded
