Description

This lovely work table was made by Jules Perrenoud, a Swiss furniture maker. It is stamped 'JP' in black on the underneath and the key has the maker's name on it. We would estimate it to date from the first half of the twentieth century, although it is older in style and may be a little earlier. We believe it to be constructed from solid oak with boxwood inlays around the edge of the top, although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood types. It has a lovely quarter-veneered top. Beneath the top are two drawers, the top one of which is a sectionalised and lockable and retains its original working key. The table has a lower under-tier and lyre side supports. It is supported on swept feet.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are a few marks to the top and some chipping to the veneer at the edges of the drawer fronts.

The approx. measurements are as follows:Overall - 72cm high, 59.5cm wide, 40cm deep (to maximums).
