Description

This attractive Edwardian tub armchair dates from c.1910. It is constructed from solid mahogany with satinwood string inlays. The chair has a fretwork central back-splat, a rounded shape with a subtle serpentine front edge. It has an upholstered seat that is later than the chair. The piece is supported on tapering legs at the front and nicely swept legs at the back.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the chair is overall faded. The chair is nice and solid with only minimal movement in the joints. The upholstery has no rips or tears but is dated and a little faded.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 76.5cm high, 53cm wide, 51cm deep (to maximums) 43cm high to seat.
