Description

This antique tea table dates from c.1850 and is constructed from mahogany, some solid, some veneered over solid wood. The piece has a simple elegant design with a square tapering central column. The piece has a swivel and fold-over top with a recessed compartment inside. Beneath the top are simple carved shoulders at the front. The whole piece is supported on a shaped base with four short legs terminating in brass castors.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall slightly faded. There are some areas of missing and damaged veneer and a couple of areas where the veneer is loose. There is some scratching and some ring marks to the top. There are some signs of old woodworm to the back rail - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 76.5cm high, 92cm wide, 45cm deep (closed), 90.5cm wide (open) (to maximums).
