Description

This lovely antique canterbury dates from c.1850. It has turned mahogany uprights and lovely burr walnut veneers to the main body. The canterbury has superb decorative fretwork panels to the sides. There are two dividers inside. Beneath the main body is a single small drawer which retains its original wooden knob handles. The piece is supported on short legs with carved shoulders, terminating in what we believe to be original brass and ceramic castors. There is an old gift label on the inside of the drawer.

Condition - Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of restoration and repair. There is some loss to one of the handles. The castors have some tarnishing and grubbiness.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 58cm high, 55cm wide, 42cm deep (to maximums).
