Description

This attractive sofa table is an original antique piece dating from c.1810. It is constructed primarily from solid mahogany with lovely satinwood string inlays to the front, the back and the base. The table has a drop leaf at either side, which is supported on a fold-out wooden arm. There are two drawers at the front beneath the top and matching false drawer fronts to the back. The retain their original brass ring handles. The table is supported on swept legs, with a decorative shaped a stretcher between, terminating in what we believe to be original brass castors.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of old restoration and repair and a couple of areas of loss to the inlay on the base.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 69.5cm high, 95.5cm wide (closed), 153.5cm wide (open), 63cm deep (to maximums).
