Georgian Mahogany Bow-Fronted Corner Washstand

Description

This attractive corner washstand dates from c.1820 and is constructed from mostly solid mahogany. It has a shaped top rail with a small shelf at the back and a shaped apron below the top. The washstand has a lower tier with a central bow-fronted drawer beneath with false drawer fronts at either side. It is supported on square legs that are splayed at the front. The drawer and false drawer fronts have small metal handles.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of old restoration and repair. There is a ring mark to the small upper shelf.

Overall - 102.5cm high, 58.5cm wide (across the front of the top), 44cm deep (from corner to the centre of the top) (to maximums) 82.5cm high to top surface.
