Description

This lovely antique nursing chair dates from approx 1860. It has a beautiful walnut show frame with a carved floral and foilage top, carved shoulders and a carved serpentine front. It has a sprung seat and a button-back with later upholstery. It has swept legs terminating in original metal and ceramic castors, stamped 'Sam & Hall'. The chair is of superb quality.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some scuffing and wear consistent with age and use. It is a overall a little faded. It is nice and solid with only minimal movement in the joints. There are a couple of minor areas of wood loss to the carvings. The upholstery is faded and worn with some staining.

Overall - 92cm high, 60cm wide, 75cm deep (to maximums) 39cm high to seat.
