Description

This attractive Globe Wernicke bookcase dates from approx. the 1920s/1930s, but is older in style. It is constructed from oak. Both glazed sections retain their maker's transfer on the back inside. The glazed doors lift up and over. The bookcase consists of two glazed bookcase sections with a small drawer section beneath and a cornice section on the top. The sections are loosely stacked on top of each other. The doors and drawers retain their orignal metal handles.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some knocking around the base and the drawer. The drawer is a little stiff. The glass has some light scratching. The metal fixings have some surface rusting and corrosion.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 88.5cm high, 87cm wide, 32.5cm deep (to maximums).
