Description

This lovely antique armchair dates from c.1905. The chair has an over-upholstered frame with a loose feather-filled cushion and is supported on short square legs terminating in original metal castors. It has a comfortable sprung seat. The chair has a nice shape with swept arms and is of a nice small size. It has a bespoke-made loose red and white cover and retains its original floral upholstery underneath. There are no maker's marks.

Condition Overall in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age (assuming the covers are used). The original upholstery is significantly worn and grubby and is missing two of the buttons from underneath the arms on the inside. It does show signs of re-stitching in places and is thinning. The wooden legs have some scuffing and wear as might be expected. The metal castors have some surface corrosion. The bespoke-made cover is a little grubby with a few stain marks and has a small hole near one arm.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 82.5cm high, 65.5cm wide, 81.5cm deep (to maximums) 43cm high to seat (including cushion).
