Description

This attractive antique breakfast table dates from c.1810 and is constructed from solid mahognay. It has a round planked top, a turned central pedestal and a tripod base. There are nice inlaid geometric (diamond) shapes to the shoulders of the legs. The top can be tilted. It would make a nice small dining table.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the table is overall faded, particularly to the top. The top has some dark marks, scratches and dents, and there is some slight wood shrinkage cracking between the planks. The table shows some signs of old restoration and repair - the table tilt-top catch is broken and has had a screw fitted at some point to make it usuable. The table supporting block has some shrinkage cracking. The table top and supporting block are both wobbly due to wear, and would benefit from some attention. There is a heavy scuff to one foot.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 72.5cm high (open), 121cm high (tilted), 81.5cm diameter (table top) (to maximums)
