Description

This attractive kitchen dresser dates from approx. 1890. It is constructed mostly from solid pine and is a nice country piece. The dresser consists of an upper section with shaped sides and a shaped top - this section has an upper rack and a set of pigeon holes in the middle. The lower section consists of three drawers over a cupboard with a door at either side and a fixed panel in the centre, which has one wooden shelf inside. The piece is supported on a plint base with a shaped apron at the front and sides. Please note that the piece does not split down.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork, heavy in places, and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some water staining around the base and to the work surface. There are also some ring mark and stains to the surfaces. There is some wood shrinkage splitting to the back panels, and some areas of minor wood loss. The the left hand cupboard door handle is slightly loose. The base shows some signs of repair, and there is some woodworm damage around the plinth and the base - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution.
