Lovely Mahogany Lowboy Table in the Georgian Style

Description

This superb lowboy is in the Georgian style, but we believe it to date from the turn of the twentieth century. It is constructed from a mix of mahogany and oak. The lowboy has a long drawer beneath the top, and beneath this is a central drawer flanked on either side by a smaller but deeper drawer. Beneath the drawers is a shaped apron, and the lowboy is supported on pad feet. The drawers retain brass handles, but we believe these to be replacements.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall slightly faded. There are some signs of old restoration, and as is mentioned above we believe the handles to have been replaced. There are some signs of old woodworm, mainly underneath and to the back - this is not active, but has been re-treated as a precaution.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 71.5cm high, 75.5cm wide, 51.5cm deep (to maximums).
