Description

This superb Georgian oak lowboy dates from c.1780 and is of lovely quality and heavy construction. It is constructed from solid oak, and the top is cross-banded with mahogany. The lowboy has a central drawer beneath the top and a smaller but deeper drawer at either side. Beneath the drawers is a shaped apron, and the lowboy is supported on pad feet at the front and square legs at the back. The drawers retain brass handles, but we believe these to be replacements (although they do have some age).

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall slightly faded. There are some signs of old restoration, and as is mentioned above we believe the handles to have been replaced.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 70cm high, 79cm wide, 46cm deep (to maximums).
