Description

This lovely antique planter dates from approx. 1860. We believe it to be of English origins, although it is in the French style. The planter is constructed from solid oak with a tin / zinc liner. It has a sarcophagus-shaped top with an attactive bowed and shaped apron beneath. It is supported on elegant swept tapering legs. The liner is removable and has a supporting bar beneath.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. The liner has some holing and minor splitting and has some old lead repairs beneath.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 78.5cm high, 80cm wide, 45cm deep (to maximums).
