Description

This superb dressing mirror is in the art deco style with lovely ribbed drawer fronts and door. We believe it to be of French origins, and to date from the 1930s/1950s. It is constructed from oak, some solid, some veneered over a wooden carcass and is very heavy. It does dismantle for ease of transportation.

The piece consists of a central large bevel-edged dressing mirror with a cupboard at one side, with a single removable shelf inside, and a bank of three small drawers at the other side. The drawer fronts and cupboard door are ribbed and the shelf has lovely inlaid decoration to the front. The two side sections have marble tops (one of which is broken). The cupboard door retains its locks and there is one key present. The dressing mirror is supported on an inverted shaped plinth base.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some surface rusting and corrosion to the metal fixings. There is some slight spotting to the mirror. The lock on the cupboard is missing its pin, but does still work. There is some scuffing to the lower surface below the mirror and inside the cupboard. The marble top above the cupboard is broken, but both pieces are present.
