Description

This antique stoneware two-gallon barrel looks to date from the second half of the nineteenth century. There are no maker's marks. The barrel is salt-glazed with relief-work decoration featuring a royal crest and Prince of Wales feathers. It retains its original cork top, but there is no tap present.

Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some grubbiness and paint specking, and some chipping, including a larger chip to the top edge. There is no tap present.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
40cm high, 24cm wide (to maximums).
