Description

This attractive plate depicts various characters from nursery rhymes around the rim. It is fully hallmarked on the back for the American firm Gorham, and is also marked 'sterling' together with the model number A4480. It is stamped with the Gorham date cypher for 1907. The plate is engraved on the front with initials the inscription looks to read: 'JDL from JHB'. The piece weighs approx. 290g (9.4ozt).

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. There is some surface scratching and wear, and some tarnishing and surface corrosion. There is some polish residue. The raised figures have some denting and wear.
