Description

This original set of seven dining chairs date from the first part of the nineteenth century. They have a lovely simple design with mahogany frames and drop-in upholstered seats. They are supported on turned legs at the front and slightly swept legs at the back. There is one carver chair and six standard chairs. The upholstery is later in date.

Condition: Overall this is a nice set of antique chairs, but they do require some restoration work. There is some scuffing, scratching, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, which is heavy in places, and the chairs are overall faded. There is some movement in the joints and one of the chairs has an area of damage and loss to the top of one of the front legs. There is some cracking to the woodwork in places. The upholstery is grubby, faded and dated and would benefit from replacement. There are some signs of old restoration and repair in places.

The approx measurements are as follows:
Carver Chair - 84.5cm high, 57.5cm wide, 49cm deep (to maximums) 44cm high to seat
Standard Chair - 84.5cm high, 48.5cm wide, 47cm deep (to maximums) 44cm high to seat.
