Edwardian Walnut Twin Pedestal Leather-Topped Desk

Photos

Description

This attractive pedestal desk dates from c.1910. It is constructed from what we believe to be solid walnut, although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood type. The desk has a green leather-topped writing surface with gilt tooling. Underneath the writing surface there is a longer drawer flanked on either side by a pedestal with four graduated drawers. The drawers retain their original decorative brass handles (although please note that two have slightly different replacement handle drops). The drawer fronts have attractive tramline decoration. The three drawers across the top retain their locks, but please note that no key is present. The desk is supported on a plinth base with metal and ceramic castors beneath. Please note that it does not dismantle.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and knocking to the woodwork as might be expected. There is some slight wood shrinkage cracking to the sides. As is mentioned above two of the handle drops are replacements and do not quite match.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 77cm high, 122cm wide, 61cm deep
