Description

This lovely oak sideboard dates from approx. the 1930s. It has a nice light colour. The sideboard is constructed from solid oak, with some parts veneered over the top. It has an inverted breakfront and lovely decorative carving. The sideboard consists of three drawers, the middle of which is a lined and sectionalised cutlery drawer, over a central two-door cupboard with a removable wooden shelf inside, flanked on either side by a single-door cupboard. The right-hand side cupboard has a single removable wooden shelf inside and a metal bottle rack on the bottom of the inside of the door. The left-hand side cupboard has two removable wooden shelves inside. All the doors and drawers retain brass drop handles, which we believe to be original to the piece. The sideboard is supported on stylised bracket feet and has a decorative back rail.

Condition - Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some light scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall slightly faded. The top of the sideboard has a few marks and dents. The lining of the sectionalised cutlery drawer is faded and worn. Both the left and right-hand cupboard doors have some slight veneer loss to the inside. The metal bottle rack has some slight surface rusting.

104cm high, 140cm wide, 52.5cm deep (to maximums) 92cm high to work surface.
