Superb Victorian Shaped Mahogany Tilt-Top Table

Photos

Description

This lovely tilt-top tripod occasional table has a shaped top constructed from one piece of solid mahogany. We believe it to be Victorian in date, but it may be earlier. The table is supported on a handsome turned and carved tripod base. The legs have decorative carved shoulders and feet. The table top can be tilted for ease of storage.

Condition - Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall slightly faded. There are some signs of old restoration and repair - there are a couple of replacement sections around the table top edge, and a piece of wood has been added to the top the top of the base where the catch fits. The metal snap catch has some metal loss and has been re-drilled and re-fitted at some point. There are some signs of old woodworm to the top of the base - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution.

The approx. measurements are as follows -
Overall - 115.5cm high (tilted), 71cm high (top down), 79cm diameter of top (to maximums)
