A charming oil on canvas by W.E. Evans signed lower left. This painting depicting a highland scene with a young girl standing barefoot in a shallow stream, balancing two water jugs as she pauses on a rock. Evans captures the softness of the landscape with rolling hills, flowing water and gentle light, lending the work a serene, romantic atmosphere.

W.E. (William E.) Evans was a British artist active in the late 19th century, flourishing between around 1889–1897, and believed to have died in 1909.
