Description

This traditional Japanese tansu chest is a fine example of functional craftsmanship with a rustic charm. Constructed from solid kuri wood, it features four drawers each fitted with black iron handles and decorative lock plates at the centre. The aged timber displays a natural patina, its warm tones enhanced by the contrast of the iron hardware. The chest’s proportions and understated ornamentation reflect the balance of utility and artistry that defines tansu furniture. Like all antique furniture there are imperfection however this is still a functional, enduring, and visually striking chest.
