Description

A classic example of traditional European taxidermy, this mounted roe deer head is presented on a shield-shaped wooden plaque, its antlers elegantly branching in a symmetrical six-point formation. The naturalistic pose and lifelike detailing evoke the quiet dignity of the roe buck, while the rich patina of the wood complements the warm tones of the preserved hide. Beneath the mount, a small engraved plate reads E. J. F. – Baledmund – 1938, offering a glimpse into its provenance, perhaps a commemorative piece from a notable hunt or a personal memento of place and time. Ideal for a country house interior, lodge, or collector’s wall, it carries both rustic charm and historical resonance.
