Wonderful French Japy Freres slate & malachite mantel clock with bronze figure on top in good working order. This quality piece features an eight day mechanical striking movement stamped Ollivant & Botsford Paris. The 5" black dial has green Roman numerals and protected by bevel edged glass set in a brass bezel with two beautiful bronze female figures standing either side. The thoughtful looking female figure on top is very well made with a lot of attention to detail. Like all antiques there are the odd age-related marks but that does not diminish the outstanding quality of this striking clock. An impressive and wonderful example of craftmanship of the 19th century and a true statement piece.
