Outstanding Victorian pop-up davenport with piano style top made from solid walnut. The piano top lifts to reveal an interior consisting of the original tooled green leather adjustable writing surface, 2 pen tray and compartment for ink pot and 2 small drawers which conceal a hidden release mechanism for the pop-up top. The pop-up section has 3 small drawers and 4 pigeonholes. To the right there are a bank of four dovetailed drawers to the left matching faux drawers all with original turned handles. Its stunning carved scroll shaped supports stand on a plinth base with carved bun feet. The beautiful walnut veneers cover even the back so it can be free standing in the room. In excellent condition with wonderful colouring and amazing patination, a wonderful piece of history that is still very useful today. In excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age and use that will look outstanding in any study or office.
