Description

Superb quality walnut works table from the fabulous Victorian era decorated with marquetry and string inlay. The top is covered in amazing quarter burr walnut veneers decorated with inlays of satinwood. This lifts to reveal an interior with its original red leather writing slope and compartments. As shown in the pictures there is some ink marks to the writing slope and compartments which add to its charm and character. There is a drawer in the figured walnut frieze which is controlled by a key. The interior of the drawer is divided into sections ideal for storing writing paraphernalia. The work box slides out from beneath the drawer providing more storage. The table has beautifully turned column supports united by a turned stretcher ending on superbly carved cabroile style legs with original white china castors. This is an outstanding table with only historical marks etc that you would be expected with any antique and will look stunning in any room.
