Fantastic German oak bracket / mantel clock having a striking 'ting-tang' mechanism by noted makers LENZKIRCH. It's stunning brass face holds a beautiful silver chapter ring with roman numerals, a matted brass centre, surrounded with brass spandrels and a separate rise and fall regulation dial above. The oak case is beautifully carved with stunning sound frets to the sides. The backplate is stamped with the maker’s mark, model name and serial number. Like all antiques there are the odd age-related marks but that does not devalue from the outstanding quality of this clock.
Lenzkirch had substantial factories in the Black Forest region of Germany. The company produced some beautiful clocks of superb quality, and this one is a fine example.
