A high-quality Victorian pop-up davenport desk in richly figured burr walnut, distinguished by its elegant proportions and versatile interior. The curved fall-front opens to reveal a leather-lined writing surface with fitted compartments, small drawers, and integrated inkwell recesses. The pop-up superstructure rises to display pigeonholes and drawers, centred by a decorative floral inlay, combining visual interest with practical organisation.
The base incorporates a bank of four graduated drawers concealed behind a side door, with opposing cupboard storage to the reverse, making this a fully functional piece from all aspects. Raised on a shaped plinth base with pronounced scroll-carved brackets and retaining its original castors.
