An Antique Regency Mahogany sarcophagus box.

In great condition with brass lion claw feet and brass lion ring handles

A fine example of an early 19th Century box. It is an attractive sarcophagus shape with brass lions’ head handles and matching brass feet and the main body is edged with ebony stringing. The mahogany has a wonderful colour and grain, and it comes with its original working key.

Inside it has open compartment, once would of had a tea bowl and two compartments which were missing, we had lined with old saw cut maple and polished it.

In very good condition for its age. The inside is clean and tidy, and the exterior has a rich patina. There are some minor signs of age and use, some marks, but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been restored and gently polished and is ready for use.

size is 13. 3/4 x 7 inches and 8 inches tall

Would look attractive in contemporary or traditional interior
