A fine George II mahogany armchair of generous proportions, the shaped back with pierced vase-shaped splat between outcurved stiles, above boldly outscrolled arms with well-defined terminals. The seat upholstered in period needlework, raised on square legs united by stretchers and fitted with original brass castors, stamped Hunter, Moorgate St, London. Exhibiting the strength and elegance typical of mid-18th century design. circa 1750
