A fine quality Victorian burr walnut circular tripod table, English, circa 1870.

The circular top is beautifully veneered in richly figured burr walnut, displaying excellent colour and lively grain, and is finished with a moulded edge above a shaped frieze. It is supported on a well-turned and carved central column, raised on a bold tripod base with scrolling cabriole legs, each terminating in carved feet.

The table is of particularly good proportions and craftsmanship, with strong architectural presence and an attractive surface patina throughout. A versatile piece, ideal for use as a centre table, lamp table or occasional table in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
