William IV Mahogany Cheval Mirror on Sabre Legs wi

Description

A fine William IV mahogany framed cheval mirror, the rectangular plate set within a simple moulded frame with shaped upper corners and topped by turned finials. The mirror is supported between twin uprights with adjustable brass side knobs, allowing the plate to tilt.

Raised on elegant sabre legs terminating in brass sabots and original brass castors, the whole piece is well-proportioned and displays a rich, warm mahogany colour typical of the period.

A classic Regency-to-William IV transitional design, both functional and attractively restrained.

Circa 1830
