Description

A superb rosewood, Edwardian inlaid and pen worked envelope card table made circa 1900. The top having 4 leaves with good quality ivorine and satinwood inlaid classical urns and scrolling fauna all set within double boxwood lines. To open, the top swivels and 1 leaf raises to enable easy opening of all leaves. Once turned and opened the baize lined playing surface is revealed and each leaf has a sunken counter well. The single mahogany lined frieze drawer retaining the original pierced brass handles with further ivorine and satinwood inlay of griffins and scrolling fauna. The base of the more desirable cluster column form and supported on 4 outswept legs with conforming inlay and standing on brass and brown porcelain casters. In very good original condition. Size:- Height...29.75''/ 75.5cm. Width & Depth...21.75''/ 55cm. Please see the last picture of a very small piece of ivorine missing otherwise in superb original condition
