Description

A painted laminated wood half block model of De Wet, mounted on a mahogany frame, signed and dated 1986 verso, 65 x 25cm.
De Wet was a Scotch fishing Nabbie, which was a type of herring-fishing boat originally with a raking mast, lug-sail and jib, used especially on Loch Fyne and the Firth of Clyde from the 19th century.
