Description

This delightful small, very fine quality French mid 19th century bronze jewellery casket is beautifully decorated with finely cast panels.

The four sides have rural scenes depicting adults and children at work and playing in a beautiful garden.

The hinged lid has a different scene of a man on horse back moving an untamed horse through open countryside.

The box has its original working lock and decorative bronze key. When opened, the interior reveals a gilt rim with the original red velvet-lined interior for storing favourite precious pieces of jewellery.

This would be a lovely object or gift for a gardening enthusiast.

French circa 1860

Height 6.5cm x width 14cm x depth 7.5cm
