Description

This superb piece of Indian art was created in circa 1900 and is a masterpiece of fine filigree silver work. It is made in two parts of hexagonal form with a push fitting lid which locates perfectly onto the body. It has a finial pediment in the form of a leaping deer, beautifully detailed in its own right. The design and manufacture of the filigree decoration is very fine and is further enhanced with silver mounted cabochons of turquoise and agate. The finishing detail is the six blue enamelled feet on which the piece stands.
This incense burner is in very good condition and is simply stamped silver on the base.
