Description

A good quality pair of Regency Chesterfield style mahogany and buttoned leather ‘slipper’ armchairs together with a matched footstool which is a slightly darker shade of cranberry. Possibly dating from the 1930s, the armchairs have good, solid frames and attractive detailing in both the scrolling arms (with studding around the padded & buttoned leather arms) and carved fan supports on arched legs. There is some fading to the leather, commensurate with age and use, which are otherwise in very good condition with no tears although one chair does not feature the brass studding on the back.
