Description

An elegant harlequin set of six early Victorian (c.1860) mahogany balloon back dining chairs with carved and shaped backs, cabriole front legs and refined sabre rear legs. All shaped seats are upholstered in the same attractive maroon fabric in extremely good, little used condition. Chairs comprise a set of four (one with a small loss to the carving on the lower balloon section – see photo) with the two similar chairs having a more robust balloon. All are in very good condition with no loose joints and generous, well-padded, stuff over seats, soundly sprung with no signs of wear to the upholstery.
