Description

Dating from the late 1950s / early 1960s and produced by Fratelli Reguitti, (based in Agnosine, Province of Brescia) Lombardy, bearing the FR logo within the circle of text ‘Made in Italy International Patent’, this useful and slender gents valet is made from light beech and raised on four small castors for ease of movement. With brass topped cross-stretchers providing a shoe rest at the base, the frame incorporates a shirt/jacket hanger below a grooved, non-slip, trouser bar with small extending brass rods on either side on which to hang a tie and belt above a useful, sculpted cuff-link/coin tray.

The brass elements on the shoe rack have obvious wear consistent with use and, overall, the frame is in good condition with a minor but strong repair evident to one side of a stretcher bar – hence the price.

This item was reputedly designed by Ico Parisi (Domenico Parisi 1916–1966) Italian architect and later furniture designer.
