Advertising Vesta
Great Eastern Railway Refreshment Department is advertised on the front and inside The Coffee Room of the London Hotel is advertised.
The adverts are like laminated paper so have lasted.
Stamped on the bottom is Bryant and May's Matches.
The vesta would originally have been gold plated the remains of which can be seen in some places.
The vesta is now a dull colour without the plating.
Approximate dimensions: 4.5mm x 3.3mm, weight 11 grams.
The seams at the corners near the hinge have opened.
An interesting advertising item from the late 19th /Early 20th Century.
