Louis XV Style Rosewood and Tulipwood Bureau Plat Ormolu Desk by MERCIER FRÈRESA Louis XV style rosewood and tulipwood bureau plat stamped by the maker Mercier Freres circa 1860.
This exceptional quality desk having a leather top with a gilt surround raised over serpentine single drawer with two short drawers, all cross banded, line inlaid with gorgeous decorative ormolu swan neck handles, escutcheons and key with foliate, ruffle and scroll motif detail.
The top has slides extending from either side for additional desk space with original aged leather embossed foliate and scroll motif borders.
The sides with two pull out slides with ormolu pulls supported on elegant tapering cabriole legs with finely cast ormolu mounts terminating on sabot cast feet.
